HI! I'M KRYSTAL!

I’m a California girl, a wife, and a mom to two beautiful girls who constantly remind me just how imaginative, curious, funny, and wonderfully unpredictable childhood can be. These days, much of my inspiration comes from right at home—watching my daughters learn, play, ask questions, make up stories, and see the world in ways that adults sometimes forget how to.

I’ve loved drawing for as long as I can remember, but creating for children has always held a special place in my heart. There’s something magical about making a picture or telling a story that can make a child laugh, feel understood, ask a question, or look at the world a little differently.

I’m currently studying Child Development, with the hope of understanding children not only as an artist, but more deeply as a storyteller. I’m fascinated by the way children think, learn, imagine, and make sense of the world, and I love finding ways to weave those things into the stories and characters I create.

My upcoming work will be influenced by my Christian faith. I hope to create more stories that reflect the values I want to share with my own children—stories about kindness, courage, identity, wonder, faith, love, and the beautiful things God has placed in the world around us. Not every story needs to teach a lesson, but I believe stories can plant little seeds that stay with us long after the last page.

This website is a home for those stories, illustrations, and ideas.

Some of my earlier work and published books can be found under my maiden name, Krystal Carter. Today, I create and share my work as Krystal Williams.

I'm still figuring out exactly where this creative path will take me, but I know I want to keep drawing, keep writing, keep learning, and keep creating things that make childhood feel a little more special.

Thanks for being here. I hope you find something that makes you smile. 🤍

Fun Facts About Me

  • Humble Beginnings: My digital art journey started way back in the day with a mouse and a blank canvas on Microsoft Paint. I've upgraded my tools since then, but the love for storytelling hasn't changed!

  • Built-in Critic: Being a parent means I have the ultimate, brutally honest target audience living right under my roof to test out my newest story ideas and rhymes.

  • The Creative Fuel: My creativity comes in the little pockets of time I can find in between late-night breastfeeding sessions, stolen naps, trips to the library, and afternoons at the park with my girls.
